Stellar Development Foundation released Project Thruput, a separate network execution model designed to eliminate transaction ordering bottlenecks by processing transactions out of order, removing per-transaction fees entirely. Early benchmarks across eight machines within a single validator reached 7.02 million payments per second in testing. The foundation has not yet announced how Project Thruput will relate to or potentially integrate with the main Stellar network, leaving open questions about its long-term role.
