Stellar celebrated its first anniversary, growing from two cofounders to a 16-person team while launching the Stellar Consensus Protocol, building global partnerships, and establishing a thriving developer community across multiple continents.

One year after launch, Stellar marked its first anniversary with significant milestones including team expansion from two cofounders to sixteen members, publication of the Stellar Consensus Protocol white paper by Chief Scientist David Mazières, and creation of a new network codebase. The project gained mainstream media coverage from BBC, WIRED, and Wall Street Journal, while Executive Director Joyce Kim spoke at the United Nations. The community grew substantially with developers on every continent, a Slack channel expanding 20% monthly, and resources translated into twelve languages. Looking ahead, Stellar aims to make the network more accessible to enable financial inclusion in underserved communities.
