The Stellar Development Foundation and Ukraine's Ministry of Digital Transformation signed a partnership to develop virtual asset market infrastructure, support stablecoin regulation, and facilitate Ukraine's central bank digital currency (CBDC) development.
The Stellar Development Foundation (SDF) and Ukraine's Ministry of Digital Transformation signed a Memorandum of Understanding on December 28, 2020, to collaborate on developing Ukraine's virtual assets ecosystem. The partnership focuses on creating modern market infrastructure, supporting virtual asset projects, implementing stablecoin regulation, and facilitating the development of Ukraine's national digital currency. Deputy Minister Oleksandr Bornyakov emphasized the importance of aligning Ukraine with global financial trends, while SDF CEO Denelle Dixon highlighted the opportunity to bring Stellar-based tools and services to Ukrainian businesses and individuals. SDF officially launched its Ukraine operations in January 2021.
