Alfred Pay, a Stellar Community Fund winner, is building a LATAM-focused remittance platform using USDC on Stellar. The fintech operates as both an anchor and consumer wallet app, launching anchor services in the Dominican Republic this June with plans to expand across Latin America.

Alfred Pay is a fintech company that won the Stellar Community Fund and is now expanding its LATAM remittance platform. Co-founded by Diego Yanez and Marino Marrero, the company leverages USDC on Stellar to facilitate seamless payments between the US, Dominican Republic, and Haiti. Alfred Pay operates as both a Stellar anchor (setting up payment corridors with fiat on/off ramps via Wyre partnership) and a consumer wallet app enabling users to send remittances, receive payments to bank accounts, and withdraw cash at ATMs. The company differentiates itself through localized services like digital tipping solutions for tourism workers and partnerships with nonprofits for community impact. Alfred Pay plans to launch anchor services in the Dominican Republic in June, followed by Haiti, with phased wallet rollouts focusing on user experience before full launch.
