Stellar Weekly Roundup — week of Jul 31, 2026
FC Barcelona's Barça Mobile will integrate Stellar-powered payments via Wirex, Crossmint, and SDF; RedStone brought Ondo's USDY onchain as collateral-eligible as Stellar's tokenized asset base crosses $2.96 billion. The week also saw Nethermind cut Soroban ZK verification costs by 64%, SocketFi ship Smart Accounts v2, Para add embedded Stellar wallet support, and SDF formally launch the Ambassador Program alongside Stellar House São Paulo.

FC Barcelona's Barça Mobile app will integrate Stellar-powered payments and wallets through a joint effort by Wirex, Crossmint, and SDF. RedStone deployed a SEP-40 price feed for Ondo's USDY, making the yield-bearing Treasury-backed stablecoin collateral-eligible on Stellar's lending protocols as the chain's tokenized asset base reaches $2.96 billion. SDF's Q2 2026 report confirmed DTCC and MoneyGram as the quarter's landmark institutional partners.
Institutional Momentum and RWA
SDF's Q2 report, published August 3, documents DTCC, which oversees $114 trillion in U.S. capital markets, and MoneyGram, which serves 60 million cash customers, as the quarter's standout additions. Both selected Stellar independently, citing compliance-aware design, transaction reliability, and cost.
RedStone's USDY integration adds a yield-bearing, Treasury-backed stablecoin to Stellar's collateral set, supported by a new SEP-40 contract and onchain price feed. RedStone's July 2026 digest covers the broader month: Centrifuge's Janus Henderson funds launched on Stellar with SEP-40 feeds.
Consumer Payments and Embedded Wallets
Wirex, Crossmint, and SDF are building a digital wallet feature into Barça Mobile. Wirex provides the payment infrastructure; Crossmint supplies wallet technology. The integration enables payments, rewards, and digital utilities for FC Barcelona's global app users on Stellar.
Para added Stellar support to its embedded wallet platform on August 5. The tooling targets remittances, stablecoin payouts, and cross-border payments on Stellar's sub-second, sub-cent rail.
Fonbnk announced a partnership with Tala to bring embedded USDC credit lines to its users. Tala contributes a decade of underwriting intelligence built for underserved markets; Fonbnk provides the mobile airtime-to-digital assets marketplace serving customers across Africa.
Developer Infrastructure
The August 6 Stellar Developers Meeting featured a live Q&A on confidential tokens, which entered developer preview June 29. Alex Voto (SDF, Privacy PM) and Jay Geng (SDF Core Engineer) answered more than 25 builder questions. The design hides transaction amounts while keeping sender and recipient addresses public for compliance, with privacy implemented at the application layer rather than L1.
Nethermind reduced Noir UltraHonk verification costs on Soroban by 64% in CPU instructions, dropping fees from 0.23 to 0.09 XLM. The optimization moves cryptographic operations from guest WASM to Protocol 25/26 native host functions, bringing shielded-pool applications into feasible cost range.
SocketFi released Smart Accounts v2 with multi-wallet onboarding via passkeys and EVM wallets, an embedded USDC bridge via Circle CCTP, and DeFi integrations with Aquarius and Blend. EVM users can now control Stellar smart accounts without creating a Stellar keypair. Allium launched a Stellar Dashboard with SDF providing open-access analytics on network health, stablecoin flows, and RWA adoption. On the protocol layer, CAPs 83, 85, and 86 moved to Implemented and CAP 71 reached Final status.
Regional Activity
SDF brought teams to Stellar House São Paulo on August 6th, following Stellar Summit side events running from July 30. The Stellar Ambassador Program launched formally this week with four tiers connecting local chapters to the SCF grant pipeline and offering up to $150K in XLM for projects that reach mainnet. The Stellar Türkiye chapter page went live on August 6, and 13 Turkish projects received InstAward grants in July spanning walletless payments, DeFi infrastructure, and identity tools.
Rise In and Vietnam's VKU university launched the first official Stellar curriculum at a Vietnamese university, a three-phase course covering Stellar foundations, hands-on Soroban development, and a demo day with 100+ students deploying dApps on Testnet. The APAC Hackathon Grand Finale, held July 31, brought 30 finalists from the Philippines, Indonesia, and Vietnam to compete for $60,000 across three tracks.
