An early access version of the persistent online game Source of Tales is now available on multiple platforms, revived after a 10-year hiatus thanks to a Stellar Community Fund #10 grant. The key feature is Stellar-based login using external wallets like Albedo, avoiding server-side storage of sensitive data. A NodeJS Mana Stellar Bridge facilitates communication between the Qt/C++ client/server and browser wallets, verifying public keys and signatures via tokens. Changes include updates to manaserv for WebSocket/JSON handling and nullable emails, new website pages for login and privacy, and client-side buttons for seamless authentication. While full blockchain integration for character data is pending due to scope, the foundation is set using the JS Stellar SDK. The project welcomes contributors for further development.
