Gab is serious about forking Keybase, replacing Stellar with Bitcoin

Gab CEO Andrew Torba stated the company is seriously exploring forking Keybase after the platform announced Stellar wallet integration. Torba plans to replace Stellar with a Bitcoin Lightning Network wallet, calling Stellar a 'shitcoin' controlled by Silicon Valley elites including Stripe and Y Combinator President Sam Altman. This move fits Gab's new business strategy of forking open-source projects, removing what Torba deems inferior cryptocurrencies, and integrating Bitcoin. The announcement came days after Gab's successful fork of Brave browser into the Dissenter Free Speech Browser. Gab has increasingly turned to Bitcoin and decentralized tools after being banned from major payment processors and tech platforms due to its permissive content policies.
