Horizon 1.0, Stellar's open-source API, launches with a new ingestion engine that makes queries faster, more consistent, and less dependent on Stellar-Core. The major release includes breaking changes and new endpoints for asset trustlines, multi-sig account discovery, and network-wide offer filtering.

Horizon 1.0 marks the first major release of Stellar's HTTP API server since 2015. The release switches to a completely new ingestion system that gives Horizon access to full ledger state, enabling it to answer queries about both historical and current network data without constantly consulting Stellar-Core. This improves query speed by up to 10x, eliminates longstanding 500 errors, and allows production clusters to ingest simultaneously for better reliability. New endpoints include filtering accounts by asset trustlines, discovering all accounts a signer controls, and querying all network offers by seller or asset pair. The public Horizon instances will upgrade on March 2, 2020.
