MoneyGram International announced a partnership with the Stellar Development Foundation and Circle to integrate USDC into MoneyGram's global payment network. The partnership enables consumers to seamlessly convert between USDC and local fiat currency through MoneyGram's 150+ million customer base, while facilitating near-real-time backend settlement using Circle's USD Coin. United Texas Bank serves as the settlement intermediary. The integration expands access to digital currency services for cash-based users and represents a significant advancement in blockchain-enabled cross-border payments. Rollout began in select markets in 2021 with international expansion planned for 2022.
