SDF, eCurrency, and ANZ's CBDC prototype solution has been shortlisted for the G20 TechSprint 2022, competing to demonstrate how central bank digital currencies can be issued and distributed efficiently on blockchain infrastructure.

The Stellar Development Foundation, eCurrency Mint, and ANZ Bank announced their CBDC prototype solution has been shortlisted for the third G20 TechSprint 2022, hosted by the Bank for International Settlements and Bank of Indonesia. The collaboration combines eCurrency's CBDC platform, Stellar's blockchain network, and ANZ's distribution model to create a two-tier CBDC solution enabling secure transactions for both online and offline use. The prototype addresses G20 challenges around issuing, distributing, and transferring CBDCs while improving financial inclusion and interoperability. The team will present to Bank of Indonesia in July, with winners selected in October by an independent panel.
