The Stellar Development Foundation announced updates to the Stellar Community Fund for 2021, including two funding rounds distributing 7M XLM total, new voting mechanics with budget self-selection, and a community-driven panelist selection process.
The SDF revealed the restructured Stellar Community Fund for the remainder of 2021 following community feedback. Two rounds will distribute 7M XLM: the first (June-September) will allocate 4M XLM, and the second (October-December) will distribute 3M XLM plus any carryover. Projects now self-select budgets in USD, converted to XLM at payout. Voting uses a simple yes/no mechanism with top-three rankings to break ties. Discussion happens on the SCF website and Discord, while panelists are manually selected from the community by the SDF ecosystem team, with plans for future peer election. Applications open June 28 at communityfund.stellar.org.
